This volume contains three of Hemingway's early short stories. 'The snow of Kilimanjaro' relates the story of a rootless expatriate Harry who is awaiting death in a safari camp at the foot of the snow-capped Kilimanjaro.In 'Soldiers Home' Hemingway describes the estrangement from society of a young American soldier and in 'My Old Man' he tells the story of a warm and affectionate relationship between father and son traveling in Europe from one race-course to the other. Hemingway's style is tough simple and colloquial full of understatement with descriptions of brutality.
